Art Force Traffic Signal Box painting
Posted: Wednesday,28th July, 2021 Filed under: competition, Painting, Project | Tags: art, artwork, Brisbane, henna, painting, public, Traffic Signal Box Leave a commentAt 2 meters tall and 2.6 meters the whole way round, it is the largest painting I’ve ever done (and the most public too).
Inspired by aboriginal dot art and henna, recreating a map of the local area including Marchant Park and 7th Brigade Park. Roads, trees, sports fields and even Chermside Shopping Center and the intersection the traffic box is on are all accounted for. The box is at corner Murphy Rd and Ellison Rd Geebung.
Thanks Artforce Brisbane for the privilege of gifting this painting to the local area.

Society 6 Store

Well, actually, I made the account quite a few years ago but spent more time adding to Redbubble.
Making designs or patterns is a fun way for me to be creative and learn more tricks using the software I use daily. It is a nice way to blow off some steam so to speak. There is something very freeing about turning an idea I have in my head into something that can outside of myself. Creation. So when sites like Redbubble and Society 6 will do print on demand it makes sense to sell on these services.
There is something so very satisfying about seeing a design that I created mocked up on different items. I am used to seeing shirts, prints and I have been making custom clock faces. But Society6 has some other items I am not used to seeing like chairs, furniture, picnic rugs and yoga mats. Many gift ideas here.

I dont quite remember the last time I had a spare moment to myself let alone full time creative freedom. It’s nice. Here are four clocks I have designed that Redbubble print and manufacture.
Chester Carlson Poster – Photocopy of a photocopy

This is Chester Carlson (the guy who invented “electro photography” AKA the photocopy. I call it Photocopy of a Photocopy. I made this for the PrintEx11 poster competition.
diptych paintings

Designed to make Harry’s “Red” couches stand out.
Panel A, Panel B
These were commissioned by Harry to fill a few prerequisites:
- could not be too big in the room but big enough to fill a full wall
- had to create contrast in his lounge with red-brown-maroon colour palette
- could be versatile enough to be changed at will – not a static diptych
- modern and interesting
- simple
- blur the lines between art and design
Each panel is a 50 x 90 cm pre-made canvas. The relationship between colours employees Fibonacci numbers for balance. Due to using this number set each panel is balanced and when adding the panels to each other in any formation continued the number set.
